With most of the affects of behind us, Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon and Jennifer Hudson are scheduled to headline a major summer concert in Central park.
Booked by Clive Davis, the show will be part of a week of festivities celebrating the reopening of New York City. The event, originally scheduled for June 7th, has been bumped back to August . Mayor Bill de Blasio said "It’s going to be one of the greatest Central Park concerts in history. This is something you do not want to miss,” with definitely more acts to come.
Executive Director of Citywide events Dan Gross said "The capacity for the event will be 60,000 people. It’s going to be the same set up that you would see at other standard events,” Mayor de Blasio also stated “We intend to get a lot more people vaccinated between now and August, this is meant to be an event for a large crowd.”
“It is going to be a great moment for the city, marking our rebirth, marking our comeback,” he added. “We’re very excited, and it’s going to be a historic event, to say the least.”
