Goodyear Awarded Treatment Plant of the Year
A new city of Goodyear facility is making a splash. The city’s new surface water treatment center, which opened earlier this year, was awarded Treatment Plant of the Year at the 95th Annual AZ Water Association Conference and Exhibition on Wednesday, April 13. The state-of-the-art facility has the ability to process 16 million gallons of water a day with future expansion. This investment ensures that Goodyear can meet its existing water needs, while also making sure there is plenty of water for further growth.
Goodyear is the first city in the Southwest Valley to have this type of facility. It is capable of combining treated surface water from the Colorado River with the city’s already-existing groundwater and delivering it to residents and businesses across the city.
